We made it to Oslo and then made it to Vardasen near Drammen (nice city)… The granite slabs at Vardasen are highly recommended… We then traveled north to stay at the Juvasshytta on Galdhopiggen. Our first day had good weather and we crossed the glacier (very safe) to the Porten. We had plans to climb the Nordvesteggen (North West Ridge) but it was intent on falling down (at a great rate) so we scrambled along to the Veslpiggen arriving too late for an ascent, though the route looked clean. We returned with plans to complete the next day but the weather came in so we made an ascent of Galdhopiggen by the usual glacier route instead. Weather -7 degrees the following day so we eventually headed south and climbed at Kolsas near Oslo… more trad (and sport if you are into that sort of thing). Plenty to go at and a good mix of Alpine and Trad.
Please view the pictures for more information. The Club bought the crag guidebook whilst we were out there so a good resource to get some really accessible city climbing completed…
Hope you enjoy the pictures.
