We met up at either ‘The Bunkhouse’ on Friday night or at the crag, Saturday morning. We had pushed the date back a week so that we avoided all the nesting bird restrictions. After a wet weather recce last year, the starting venue was Webbington North Quarry (North Quarry on UKC – UKC Logbook – North Quarry)
It’s a sport crag, but access is easy (2-minute approach) and as it is just the other side of Cheddar, it’s not too far away at all. We planned for a morning here but enthusiasm and good weather kept us climbing here for the whole day… Then a retreat to Harptree and BBQ and a warm down. The hot tub was popular.
Next year’s trip will include some sport climbing again… the Mendips and Bristol still offering a lot to go at. Although, we have the guidebook for Gilwern now too. Hope you enjoy the photographs and see you next year.
