Bovey Tracey has banks and shops and is a convenient stop off on the way over the Moors… Bovey is the self-appointed ‘Gateway of the Moors’ and will provide all the necessaries…

Accommodation:
Some of those in the South West may treat this as an extended day trip but for those that want to stay over… We are planning to bivvy overnight Saturday. The National Park normally publishes a map to wild camping and local restrictions, including camping 100m from the road and not in sight of any buildings.

Food:
Better bring your own and be self-sufficient but pub options are available.

Transport:
Cars is the best plan. Public transport doesn’t really exist on the moors.
