Information: A small group of us are planning to spend the weekend around Coniston with the aim of climbing at Dow Crag on Saturday 9th. Dow Crag is one of the biggest crags in England with multi-pitch climbing up to 100m at all grades. The Classic Rock climb, Murray’s Route (S 4a) beckons and Giant’s Crawl is one of (if not the) best Diff routes in Britain.

Services: Everything you need can be found in Coniston, including some good gear shops.

Accommodation: I have booked an AirBnB cottage near Torver just south of Coniston.

Food: Self-catering in the cottage with evening meals out possible in nearby pubs and restaurants.

Transport: Car is really the only sensible option.

Itinerary: Arrive on Friday to climb if agreed. Otherwise meet at the cottage on Friday evening or on Saturday morning. Possible second venue on Saturday. Climbing on Sunday for those not in a hurry to get home.
