    This trip has seen some changes! Original bookings at the YHA were all cancelled and so all the details are updated below… Arriving Tuesday 25th and aiming to climb at Saddle Head before then going over to the campsite. Climbing Wednesday and Thursday somewhere near the campsite, no decisions yet, before meeting up with Swiss Family Keenan on the Gower Trip on Friday 28.08.2020. Plans are a bit fluid but get in touch if you are keen.

    Plenty of climbing at all levels… the cliffs of Rhossili overlooking three miles of sandy beach, complete with shipwreck and haunted house… old quarried faces with both trad and sport lines; Fall Bay, beach bouldering and trad at all grades; Mewslade with small caves and secluded zawns; Port Eynon and the ever popular Boiler Slab and then Three Cliffs Bay/Tor Bay with quality trad straight off the beach…  For families, easy trad at Three Cliffs Bay/Tor Bay or accessible sport (to lead) at Rhossili (before taking advantage of the surf).

  • Now that’s what I call a Corona Christmas walk

    In time honoured tradition and despite these strange times, we’re pleased to announce that our traditional seasonal gathering will be going ahead.

    In order to respect Tier 3 travel restrictions currently in place, this year ‘Ye Olde Christmas Walke’ will leave its traditional home in the Peak district and take place in neighbouring Nottinghamshire on Sunday 27th December. Unfortunately, restrictions also mean that this year’s walk is only open to members who are local residents.

    The Club wishes that everyone read and understand the current rules for their Tier.

    After last year’s AGM, we are all super excited! Plans this year include camping so we have posted the dates a little later… for those who like the comfort. Camp in the heart of the Peak District at Edale, climb more Grit than you know what to do with then sit at a camp site and wave at each other… discussing the merits of Amazon toilet tents…

  • David Judge’s Over The Moors Trip

      A venture onto the Kinder Plateau to search out some forgotten Gritstone… this may be a day out from Nottingham or Manchester or weekend visit for those further afield… Who knows? The whole trip is really to justify the Club buying the ‘Over the Moors’ guidebook by Martin Kocsis. Plans to meet up at Edale at 09:00 on Saturday 05.06.2021. We will make plans on the day. Possible venues may include: Upper Tor, Nether Tor or The Woolpacks. If the weather is that bad, then we might just go for a walk, though Kinder Downfall might go in the rain?
