  • AGM 2019 – DPC Club Hut, Peak District

    The Club’s 2018-19 AGM will be held again at the Carlswark Cottage in Stoney Middleton, near to lots of Grit and Limestone climbing. The hut belongs to the Derbyshire Pennine Club and will provide a great base for getting out climbing or hiking in the peak district over the course of the weekend. Crags such as Froggatt, Curbar, Baslow and Birchen are only a five minutes drive away, as well as some limestone crags within walking distance of the hut.     A chance to push your grade on trustworthy Gritstone or wonder what you were thinking on polished Peak limestone, trad at Stanage, sport climbing at Horseshoe Quarry and bouldering opportunities all over the place (possibly in the rain, just like last year), plenty of walking over the tops and enough activities to keep children and adults happy, away from the outdoors, if that’s what you need … so, something for everyone.

    After last year’s AGM, we are all super excited! Plans this year include camping so we have posted the dates a little later… for those who like the comfort. Camp in the heart of the Peak District at Edale, climb more Grit than you know what to do with then sit at a camp site and wave at each other… discussing the merits of Amazon toilet tents…

    This year’s AGM will be hosted by VP Keith at his new(ish) home in the Welsh Borders. The venue provides easy access to Snowdonia as well as some local venues for excellent trad, sport and bouldering. Come and join us or all or part of the trip and enjoy good company, great climbing and a review of the previous year's adventures.
