Alex Price

Now based just north of Carmarthen; most of my climbing is done on the sea cliffs of South Pembrokeshire. I got the climbing bug over 20 years ago after getting bored on a college trip and taking myself off soloing while the rest of the group was waiting for a gentle ab down to the bottom. I got lost, scared myself silly, and was of course instantly hooked.
In truth, I’m more in it for the scenery, the booze and the people but I’m always up for a good romp in the hills, whether it be a climb or a walk.
I cut my teeth mainly on the Gritstone classics of the Peak District (hate Limestone, it’s deceitful stuff!) and could usually be found creeping my way up (or down) something on Froggatt Edge. Since then I’ve done a tiny bit of winter stuff, some multi-pitch in Snowdonia, Scotland and the Lakes plus a little bit of Via Ferrata in the Italian Dolomites near Lake Garda.
I met Paul a very long time ago at the original Nottingham Climbing Wall and through him I met Jim (we were, very, very, drunk) the rest is of course history.
For the last 10 years or so, work has kept me away from the crags more than I would have liked but the move to Wales has redressed that balance and I’m trying to get out and about a bit more these days.
Usually up for most things; I look forward to climbing with you all.
