Saturday morning saw eight of us meet up at the carpark with the visitor centre for Haytor. 25 minutes got us to Smallacombe Rocks which provided a lot of bouldering and is well worth a second visit. Lots to go at, for everyone. Back to the cars for lunch and then up to Haytor for a windy trad experience. A plan to avoid the wind and escape to Hound Tor gave us a final destination for the day. Some trad to finish the trip.
Most members needed to get back… Jake and Jim were happy for a return visit on Sunday and Sarah suggested The Rugglestone Inn Widdcombe –in-the-Moor, TQ13 7TF… for food. We caught a late dinner (outside, socially distanced) and checked to see the nearest campsite. It just so happens the Rugglestone has a field and a plan and so we were offered a place for £5.00… they will get round to shower blocks and toilets when they can. (Good call Sarah).
As there were only 2 of us Sunday, we were up early, petrol station breakfast and then a few hours back at Hound Tor before the return drive home.
Hope you enjoy the pictures.
